We are a research-led community of clinicians, nurses and scientists and our projects span discovery-biology in state-of-the-art labs in Edinburgh’s BioQuarter to experimental medicine and clinical trials at our newly refurbished Clinical Research Centre in the Western General Hospital. Edinburgh Kidney bridges three of the University’s strongest research centres: The Centre for Cardiovascular Science, The Centre for Inflammation Research and the Centre for Regenerative Medicine. REF21 said that 90% of research activity was “world-leading” or “internationally excellent” and ranked the University 4th in the UK (1st in Scotland), based on research power.
